SUBLITEX REALIZES THE CAMOUFLAGE WORK “LICHEN BERTEROA WITH HILARIO ISOLA - Sublitex

"LICHEN BERTEROA" is the second application of the "Atelier del Camouflage" project, developed by the artist Hilario Isola with the important technical contribution of Sublitex, as a research on the possibilities of using camouflage in an environmental art key to contrast and mitigate visual impact of buildings, warehouses or other invasive artifacts in the landscape.

Thanks to the know-how of Sublitex and the important companies that have collaborated with the artist, the "Atelier del Camouflage" project has led to the development of a new eco-sustainable fabric for exteriors with high aesthetic performance, capable of redesigning the shapes and colors of the structures to be "embellish" and alter the visual perception, blending in with the surrounding area.

The "LICHEN BERTEROA" installation, inaugurated on Saturday 26 June, converted a 70-meter reinforced concrete wall, located in the historic center of Santa Vittoria d'Alba (CN), into a public work of art. The work, made up of 60 three-dimensional modules in aluminum mesh, is covered in fabric derived from recycled materials, and printed with eco-sustainable technology and inks.

"LICHEN BERTEROA" takes its name from the botanist Carlo Bertero, whose studies it inspires. Bertero, born in Santa Vittoria d'Alba, during his explorations focused on the study and cataloging of lichens, one of the most ancient life forms on the planet, and Hilario Isola's sculptures replicate the effect to mimetic nature, creating a sort of encrustation of the concrete wall that cancels its visual impact and redefines its contours and appearance.

"For over 40 years at Sublitex we have been committed to developing cutting-edge eco-compatible printing technologies and innovative solutions for the finishing of the most varied surfaces and multiple materials. With this project, the artist Hilario Isola gives us the welcome opportunity to putting our experience at the service of one of the most beautiful and precious landscape areas of the territory, to which we have always been very close by vocation - declared Giuseppe Lano, Sublitex CEO. - The know-how that Sublitex has gained over time in terms of color solutions and water-free printing techniques, direct or by sublimation, has enabled us to support this praiseworthy initiative, aware of being able to provide a contribution that embodies the prerogatives of durability, respect for the environment and a high level of aesthetic appeal ".
